Spa Scalpore

This project was completed while I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy and is located in an abandoned building in the city. I chose to repurpose the old site into a day spa in the heart of Florence. Spa Scalpore will serve as an escape from the stresses of everyday life that are sure to be encountered in the bustling city of Florence. With a focus on sensory design, Spa Scalpore appeals to the senses of the user, greeting them with a tranquil feeling that can be perceived through the five senses. The spa’s design prioritizes color, lighting, material, texture, and biophilia to create a sanctuary for the senses in the midst of an urban environment.
